08 Yamaha Nitro Problems

I have heard only bad things about them and wanted to see if anyone has posted negative or positive comments. One guy took his home and planned a mile ride for the next day Two other guys I know of have already made arrangments to trade thiers in.

Apparently they are terribly heavy in the front end and guys can't even control them. Note, these two guys are ex-snowcross racers. What did yamaha do?!! Nitro riders, I would like to hear your thoughts.

Many have said that they have alot of ski pressure in the front. I can't believe your buddy's wouldn't know to adjust the suspension a little bit being ex Sno-X racers.

I have heard almost nothing but good things on HCS and SnoWest besides the normal things Not everybody weighs the same amount. These sleds are setup for the average guy. If you buy a brand new sled and are going to trade it in without even tuning the suspension because it doesn't handle good I don't think you have any business buying a brand new sled in the first place.

Sorry, but stuff like this is what starts bad rumors.

Now I have heard that some guys here in MI have been putting turbos on them and just love it. I even heard RUMOR from a dealership that a few known guys here locally raced the new REV with there Nitros Now I didnt see it so no one ask me anything about it. Oh and both the Ski-Doo and Yammi were stock at the time. Shortstop20 is correct, you do need to set up the suspension for that rider.

Any sled can be heavy in the front if you dont set that up first. Just my 2 cents. My daddys cousins ex-brother in law strapped a rocket to his and it was faster than a diesel volkswagon.

If you want to find out how fast it is, buy one and find out for yourself. I have heard only good things about the nytro. I own an 08 mxz-x I will tell you that it will run side by side to 85 with a mach-z , at which point we both backed out it. The mach-z will trim it on the far end of the lake. But I like my sled.

I am happy with it. When I have the chance to run against the nytro I will. When that happens, no I won't come online and brag about racing it. I won't give you some BS story about how I beat it by ten sled lengths. Its enough for me and for the guy on the nytro to know just how fast they are.

Thats the point of racing. To find out for yourself. Don't trash talk a sled you've never ridden. Thats seventh grade locker room stuff.

I agree with shortstop. Ive seen quite a few on the trails here so far. Talked to a couple guys with them and they asolutely love them.

Watched a buddy on a fast 06 Crossfire race one in ft several times and each race was very close with them trading wins. Too bad they are so damn ugly. Originally Posted by craigalen I just got back from the westernup. After miles I have to says that this sled 08 nirto rtx rocks.

The suspension will take what ever I throw at it. Gas mileage was about mpg under heavy trail riding.

Power is at least what my ZRT has. I brought 3 sleds up. I road this one for 3 days. I left the 2 Arctic Cats on the trailer. Glad you love it. I found it very hard to believe Yamaha would produce a dud. Thats unfortunate your ZRT feels like it only has hp. I would leave it on the trailer too. Nytro's are showing close to hp on the dyno's.
